Which one should I get?

Hey guys, now I know their have been several threads about this, but I just wanted to know what the MAIN DIFFERENCE between the X-Box 360 Elite and a PS3 80GB (sep. edition). I also hear that X-Box Live is superior to that of PS3 Network . What are the benefits of paying then getting it online for free? What are some of the top games for the X-Box 360? Please, don’t mention Halo. Any information will be very much appreciated. The reason I’m asking is because originally, I was gonna buy the ps3 80GB, but I started to hear things about the online being so much crappy and X-Box 360 being better. While the PS3 games are going cheaper for the Xbox 360. PS3 hardly having any exclusives. I’m really confused guys, and I was hoping you could help me thanks guys

Well I own a PS3 and the online works perfectly fine, I too would like to know how Xbox Live is superior. The only problem that I have seen with PSN is in CoD4 when the host leaves, the game ends. But even this happens rarely. The best games for the PS3, that are exclusive, right now are (I'm trying to put them in order by review score):

I own both the 360(Elite) and PS3(60gb). Yes, it is true the XBL(Xbox Live) is better then PSN(Playstation Network) but IMO but not by that much! It really comes down to you get what you pay for where as the 360 is 50 dollars for a gold Subscrption which allows you to play games online or a Silver Sub. which is free gives you online but you just cant play games online. Right out of the box the PS3 has built-in WIFI so there is no need for adapters. Where as the 360 does NOT have built in WIFI so you need to buy the adapter(which is 100 dollars!) if you want to play wirelessly. Yes its true the 360 has more games then the PS3 but thats because it had a 1 year advantage. In terms of exclusives here is the comparison list!

and no there is no difference between the online of ps3 compared to the 360, oh wait... one difference is you have to pay money for the 360. I found there is virtually no difference I used to own a 360 the only is practically the same with ps3, cod4 and gta 4 or the exact same games online with minor differences, not improvements. I've played cod4 and gta 4 both on 360 and ps3 no improvements towards the 360

Plus the ps3 is built better. Like the 360 you cant move the system around or else the disc gets scratched. Also the 360 sometimes scratches the disc for no reason either. Sometimes when Im playing the 360 it just gets very, very loud for no reason and it sounds very weird like somethings happening to the disc.

Also the ps3 dosent have much games but Im not about to buy every game anyway. The 360 dosent have that many games either or at least not that many games that are good. I only get the best games anyway like call of duty 4 and gta 4 and metal gear solid 4 an awesome exclusive.

Also the only good exclusives for the 360 that are out or coming out are the fable and gears of war series. Thats about it, there may eb a few more in the future. I hated halo. Not to mention if you wait a while you will be able to get gears of war 2 and fable 2 on PC anyway so its not really gonna be an exclusive for long. Just like bioshock its for the PC and I think it may even be going to the ps3.

All in all I like the ps3 better, I know it sounds like Im bashing the 360 I like it as well, but I really enjoy mgs4 and the free online. and the new final fantasy is probably gonna be better on the ps3 as that was the system that it was designed for, no? It also has blu-ray so ti can fit a lot more in it.

Also I got a 40 gb ps3 when they first came out and upgraded the hardrive to 320 gb. ownage! but that is if you can spare to loose ps2 backwards-compatibility, loose acouple usb ports , and sd card holders. I can cause I have a ps2, usb ports arent that important as everything is wireless so you only need them to re-charge your wireless stuff and plug in other usb stuff, but I never found myself needing all 4 usb ports at one time anyway. Also I didint really need the sd cards either because the usb does basically the same thing.

Lol thanks. The main reason why I wanted to get the PS3 was for CoD4, Resistance Series, Assasins Creed. Drake's Fortune seems really good right now actually. I'm really into shooting and RPG games. The FF games are a must, thats for sure.

As for the Xbox, I'd really want GoW and Unreal Championship.

Can someone shorten up the benefeits of Xbox Live? What is so great about it?


EDIT: Wow, | | |...you really explained everything i wanted. the Xbox games that i want, are avaiable on another playform annnnnd they're gonna be on PC. I really want Resistance, I've been all over thier viral website storyline.

Anyways, sense you brought it up, can you elaborate on your statement about less USB ports and SD cardholder. I mean srsly, why would you need them? Well more than 2 that is. SD Cardsm whats the purpose? to save files? Add Pictures?

PS3 wins every time. Free internet service! I really don't feel like paying for internet that i wouldn't use often. and lots a ps3 games are comming out or came out.

There are a lot more, but those should convince you. Also, if you have HD, you have a cheap blu-ray player, which also gives enhanced graphics that XBox can't compete with. And also, Playstation 3 has SIXAXIS, though it can't compete with Wii motion control, its still a nice extra.

PS3 has potential but if you want a pure gaming console then i would say Xbox seems to be taking hold more. PS3 was orginally made more as an entertainment center for everything. You can do web browsing, gaming, movies, music..and so. The 360 though has a longer list of games and still expanding. So its really a coin flip i guess.

Meh, I'm dead set on the 360.

Screw blueray, I want a system with some really good games, not just some titles that are ported over and people say they're great on the ps3 because the ps3 is awesome lol.

Lastly the main reason for a 360 because it's way closer in my price range than a ps3, that means every version of the ps3 not just the 80 gig (which is ridiculous in price btw).

Xbox live is better than ps network especially if you have friends with x-boxses
Also it matters how old you are i've noticed that x-boxses are more geares toward adults.
