We all love graphic tees, right? Maybe if this stylish tote bag wasn't really for you, then you should really check out these prototype T-shirts that General Manager Hidemi Matsuzuka of the Square Enix Merchandising Division has shown off on his Twitter account! It seems like there are a variety of designs prepared, but hopefully whatever they decide on looks just as awesome as the one that is sitting on the top of the pile.

Really interested in these T-shirts and want to own one? Let Hidemi know by sending him a tweet!

I'm really digging the top design. It's simple, yet bold, and though I don't play TWEWY, I think the words represent the game well enough. I hope this design gets a pass so that I can get one. ;P

On second thought, the one at the bottom of the picture looks fancy as well!

Personally I don't like the bottom one. It embodies the junkiness of the tags Nomura made for the game, and what I tend to dislike in merchandise for games and shows. As a logo for the game, it is great, but on a shirt it can overwhelm the design imo.

I like the words on the tote bag in red, but on a shirt it's just...eh. I wouldn't wear it.

That is why I like the top one for how simplistic it is. The blue on white on black is really appealing, the words don't immediately inform people what the shirt is about but if you are aware of the game you can definitely recognize the reference. I can imagine anybody wearing it not just because they like the game but because it is an appealing shirt.

I think what draws me to the bottom design as well is my affinity toward designs with only black and white colours. That, and the apparent spontaneity and briskness that I perceive from it. I just wish we were shown more of it!

Well, I'm not going to be too excited yet. For all we know the end product may not look even remotely close to those we see here, but what I do know is that I'm most certainly getting the top design if it goes through.

I just noticed the top shirt is gray with "TIMELIMIT WITHIN 7 DAYS" in a slightly darker gray. I want to see that one in full.

Edit: nvm that is just the glare from the overhead lighting.

Damn, that 7 Days shirt is amazing. I'm a huge fan of subtlety, and it references the game perfectly - not too strong, but still recognizable.

I love that top design for the exact reasons everyone else already stated; it's sleek, it's bold, and most importantly for me, it's subtle. As much as I love TWEWY, I don't want to walk down the street with character art or the logo emblazoned on my chest. This is just enough to recognize if you're familiar with the series, but also to ignore if you're not.

I want this shirt so badly. Like previously mentioned... it's subtle! My clothing/jewelry merchandise must always be subtle. I want people who are in on it to get the reference but I really don't want to wear anything that screams what it is.

SE is such a tease; TWEWY2 or an HD TWEWY on the 3DS seem so plausible with the continual merchandise line for this game.

I would love a shirt. They're just rolling out merchandise like crazy for a six year game for no reason. Why, Square, why do you do this??

Right? It's pretty bizarre and suspicious.

Recently, Ishimoto had dinner with Kando and Itou as well. It could have just been a regular dinner date but the possibility exists for something secret too 8D

I'm not a big fan of wearing shirts with graphics on 'em (and prints in general,) but that top one... I want it sooo much!

While I have no interest in tote bags, that top design (for all reasons mentioned above) would have my money. The only problem would be if they only release it in Japan then we'll need to all import it. I'd be down for a KHi mass import, just order a bunch of people who want one, we'd all pay you first (since I think we can all trust the KHi staff) and then we'd split import fees and shipping after it reaches the US.

I only say that cause I feel like a bunch of people would want these shirts here (as seen above).

That is a good idea, actually. I've had ideas about doing mass imports. I used to order through mass imports on Tumblr (and before on LJ) but since Amazon.co.jp started importing, I've done most of my shopping there and if I want anything I can't get my hands on, I tend to go to cons for it.

Hopefully these shirts will not be an eStore/ARTNIA exclusive (which we can easily workaround, but I'd rather it be easy to obtain these rather than having to go through proxies and courier services.) We shall see when there is an actual product and product page to go from xD

Let us form a prayer circle and hope that this isn't exclusive to their Japan-only e-store and Artnia.

If he mentioned that in his English account, I think there's at least a possibility for the shirt to be made available globally.

Unless I missed something in the past, that is...

lol and if not...we need to find someone who lives in Japan. Come one, somebody here has to know somebody!!!!!!!?????

I'm honestly not sure what his track record is of stating things on the US Twitter account and then releasing them stateside. Let's hope it's true though ^_^

It's his English account, but it's not specifically for a western audience. He translates all the tweets from his Japanese account and re-posts them there.
