Thought a thread here would suffice.
Even though they seem sort of redundant so far with the first debate (watching at the moment), does give an insight how the two candidates think (and repeat the same mantras to themselves).

EDUCATION
Spoiler ShowI think the biggest problem with education in America is that the schools themselves are too busy having to go for high test scores and then the students are conditioned to basically just take tests. The schools wind up doing this for more federal/state money, and so on.
Why can't schools have more optional classes? Creative Writing for English - where in CW you could cover the requirements for English, and also introduce students to something that isn't the same old stuff they've been learning for four plus years; or more Language classes, more advanced Math and Sciences, while still having those classes meet the requirements of the basic classes?
The problem is that there simply either isn't enough teachers, or they're just overqualified for the Elementary - Secondary Education areas; Colleges' tuition for students are too high to pay for without loans and scholarships/grants/etc (minus some community colleges); or elementary/secondary schools simply don't have the money to construct more buildings/rooms/buy new equipment/hire more teachers, books, and so on.
