No, I know Aqua's flaw is her unrelenting love to her duties. She put it very high, but I was saying that is not enough to hate Aqua, as is the topic. Aqua's intentions were pure. Possibly not the best way to handle it, if there is even a correct way to handle this.

Ah, I guess I was kind of a little confused, because you were arguing against Reika, who seemed to be trying to defend the fact that Aqua's flaws were flaws to prove that it's ridiculous to call her a Sue.

That is true. So correction: KH1 Sora was pretty much "I can't do any wrong!" (except for doing something stupid like committing suicide)

I've never really been able to get too firm a grasp on KH1 Sora's personality, honestly. He's practically a placeholder protagonist most of the time. =/

^ He (Jack Bauer) could break your resolve. That being said, while you are entitled to your opinion, I do still get the feeling you're ignoring facts, or at least not looking at it the right way. Hope that will change eventually. ^_^

KH2 Sora was really aggressive, though, and tended to jump to violent conclusions pretty quickly (see: Demyx and Timeless River!Pete). He was also pretty... well, I wouldn't say arrogant, exactly, but he does make it pretty clear just how little he thinks of the bad guys ("Maleficent? She's toast!" "We miiiiight have had something to do with it...").

Being aggressive isn't really a flaw though. It's a human emotion. The other two yeah, but honestly, those didn't add anything to the character of KH2 Sora. He is just... an empty slate to me. Generic personality. TAV & Riku and even Kairi have problems and specific things that seperate them from the rest. Sora in general just seems like a kid who was smacked with a keyblade and just started swinging it.

Verdict at the end of her scenario - I do not like... how she was written. I can point like two scenes in which I liked her, and the rest was pure FFFFFUUU-inducing material for me. :\
It was like an amalgamation of concepts and lessons she should've learned which, if they registered at all, contradicted both each other and her actions.
About the only reason why I don't hate-hate her is because I find the game as a whole lacking.
It might've been better if she had a true redemption act, learning from her mistakes of having doubted Terra in Radiant Garden and keeping her act better together, but oh, let's all ignore the fact Eraqus was out to kill both Terra and Ven and get on Terra's case for not letting him do it.

Terra had just admitted to killing the man who they both saw as a father! And she doesn't get mad and yell at him for it! She shows, quite frankly, an incredible amount of restraint in the face of something like that.

And she wasn't chiding him for killing Eraqus, anyway. She's warning him that fighting Xehanort like this is a really bad idea, because there's no way he'll be able to control his darkness if he wants revenge. Which, well, it is.

Terra also admitted to having done it to save Ven. I think that'd take a bit of the load off his shoulders in the guilt department more so than self control.
Overall, it's them showing one side of the story when we already saw other aspects of that concept in the series, and hell, even in Aqua's scenario itself, making for quite a bit of frustration with her behavior overall.
Aqua, to the last, is a Light person.
But you can't fight the Darkness with Light, in a nutshell.

As I said before, she frustrated me all throughout her scenario. The first three worlds? I could deal with. She was cute in Cinderella's world and I understood where she was coming from in the Enchanted Dominion. But to suddenly pull what she did in Radiant Garden? Sorry, she lost points there she didn't really get because it was like it never happened afterward. Terra's still the saint she believes in up to when she finds out he killed Eraqus, proper development and inner conflicts be damned.

Good god. Reading your comments is making me think that 3582/2 Days was the preferable title, Smile, than Birth by Sleep.

Because as a matter of concern, if I could be arsed to write out how good Aqua is as a role in a combat narrative storyline, but then I need to actually complete Birth by Sleep to share an opinion on that. But my view, Aqua is a great addition, and from what I've see, the pacing has done her justice.

As a person who cares a lot more about character development than plot (and doesn't hold BBS in such high regards about the plot, either), I do admit I enjoyed Days better than I did BBS. I also think that, while I didn't play the final episode yet, what I did play could've been summed up in about two-three flashbacks and didn't need a whole game to show us a trio that for better or worse isn't really functioning and whose characters are bi-polar to the max. I understand the mood swings but there's changing attitudes and there's mood swings, and if it's the later like I feel it was in Radiant Garden, thanks, but no thanks.
I really was looking forward to Aqua's scenario showing her side of the story, at least lessening the ridiculously negative light that Ven and Terra's scenario presented her in, but alas, it only made it worse.
