I know telepathy's been a bit... used, but I've been thinking up this character all day, and upon realising that it had already been chosen by two people... Well, I'd have been damned if I was just gonna completely remake him.
Name: Adam Mighton
Alias: Thespian
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Nationality/Ethnicity: English-American
Appearance: In civilian attire, he typically wears a hooded sweater over the top half of his body, paying little attention to what shirt he puts on beneath it. His favourite coloured sweater is a grey one that has no logos on it. He's a big fan of blue jeans, and doesn't seem to own many other types of pants. He prefers Dr. Martins in terms of shoes, and owns a total of two pairs of shoes, both black Dr. Martins. He once considered getting a pair with a British flag on the toe, and chose not to, and still regrets that decision to this day...
As far as his actual appearance goes, he has ear-length black hair which he seems to almost purposely mess up. His eyes are hazel, and he has fairly light skin, with only the faintest hint of a tan. He is skinny, although he has some good amount of muscle mass... for his age. That said, he couldn't possibly hold his own against someone in their late twenties... probably.
When in his less then civilian attire, his clothing has some... fundamental similiarities. For example, he still wears a hood, though this hood is on a black cloak that he pilfered from someone... or had someone make for him, or took off of the dead body of a dying traveller, or some other bullshit story. On his face, he wears the Dramatic mask of Comedy, with a gold star emblazoned around the left eye. He retains his Dr. Martins in this outfit, due to a complete reluctance to wear anything else for... well, apparently no good reason.
In this outfit, he gels his hair significantly, and slicks it back.
Alliance: Neutral, commits villainous acts, though is willing to do heroic acts also, and often.
City of Operations: Honestly, wherever, although he prefers big cities to smaller ones. New York's a favourite, although he often travels, and only shows up in the Big Apple occasionally.
Powers/Abilities:
- Telepathy: Thespian can, as you would expect, read the mind of anyone within a certain distance, which he has discovered to be approximately 100 metres. However, the thoughts are significantly clearer the closer the person is to him. He may read the mind of a single person within this group, though he is still working on learning how to do this without causing the significant mental strain it currently affords to him. He can easily switch off the mind reading entirely, however.
Another part of this ability is his own ability to project thought into the minds of others. He can send words and concepts directly to other minds, though he has an easier time working with the latter than the former. He finds that this compliments his second ability rather nicely.
- Persuasion: As the name suggests, he can... Well, persuade. Anything he says will be much more easily believed, and people find themselves trusting him for no apparent reason. Adding his telepathy onto this, he has realised that he can mentally send words and images to people, and this ability will have the same effect. Now, it is important to note that this is not outright mind control. As the name states, it is simply persuasion. Supposing, for example, he tried to convince Dick Cheney to cross the floor... Well, it simply wouldn't work. He needs to have some basis for what he is saying, or his abilities will not work. And even then, it takes a more convincing argument to win someone over depending on their belief in the idea he is debating... Well, as you'd expect. This is persuasion, you know.
Weaknesses: His greatest weakness lies in his telepathy. He is easily overwhelmed if he cannot close out thought immediately upon activating his powers. That being said, he is easily overwhelmed in general. If he loses focus, he risks major damage.
Weapon(s): When forced into combat, he typically makes it a point to escape from potential danger. If this is not an option, he will use any weapons at hand, including his body. He typically seems to like to make others fight for him, if violence is necessary at all.
Personality: Thespian thinks of himself as... well, generally a great human being. He has very "specific" standards, and puts little thought into your pleasure or even existance if he doesn't like you. Of course, supposing he does, he'll go out of his way to make your life significantly easier, regardless of the means used, and how morally questionable they may be to the grand majority of society.
He likes to think of himself as having a dramatic flare, although he only started this after realising what his name meant. He will make grand hand gestures, and exaggerate emotions, when the thought comes to mind, which... isn't honestly very often. He likes to try to keep up the grand theme by "thinking big", but hasn't had much luck, due to his lack of ambition. That said, he has a fairly short attention span, and easily tires of any given activity after it has been going on for any good amount of time.
Has a habit of giving the absolute highest praise he can think of to people he likes, and the worst insults he can think of to people he doesn't like.
Biography: Adam spent all of his pre-E-Day life living in the Los Feliz neighbourhood of L.A., under a very posh roof. As the son of a TV somethingorother, he was denied very few expenses... within reason, though only just. He grew up a spoiled child with feelings of self-entitlement directed towards the world in general. As the son of a celebritylike entity, he was often brought along to formal things, and expected to sit by quietly and do nothing... and brought to informal things, and apparently Bon Jovi took a liking to him, though he figures that this is a lie, having no recollection of meeting the man. However, his contact with influential people would become useful in his post E-day life.
After the explosion, he complained of severe migraines often, and began hearing voices. Physicians and Psychiatrists found nothing wrong, and he was free to go. However, he soon figured out that he had gained these abilities regardless, and put himself to work testing their limits throughout the course of a week. After reading an article online somewhere, and becoming enthralled by the topic at hand, he decided that it was time to shake up his life, and proceeded to run away from home, hitchhiking his way across the country with the use of his persuasion. Once in his intended destination of New York, he began stealing, in order to eat at first... And then for comfort. Through a clever scam or two, he wound up technically having an apartment there, though it is shared with a confidant of his. He unintentionally built up a following, and then proceeded to commit slightly larger thefts over time, before leaving the city for several weeks, in order to do who knows what.
