I know I’m probably extremely late on this but my God I hope that’s Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. If not then someone made a more convincing impression than Tidus.

It's hard to tell through his 1-2 lines of dialogue in the trailer, but I'd say it's pretty convincing if it is not actually him!

I believe that's Jared Butler who's voicing Jack Sparrow in the game. Jared has become the official voice for Jack Sparrow in the video games when Johnny Depp is unavailable having done so in the At World's End video game, Pirates of the Caribbean Online and the Disney INFINITY games. Jared is also the official sound-alike actor for Johnny Deep as he provides the voice of Tonto and the Mad Hatter (Tim Burton's version) in the Disney INFINITY games.

Depp was able to voice Jack in some games and I believe at the time he was interested in playing him in KH2 but couldn’t due to schedules. Well maybe he has more time on his hands.

James Woods doesn’t have a current scandal happening. He’s an awful human being but he also didn’t just accuse his ex-wife of shitting in the bed and creating more scandal around himself.

Also it is most definitely not Johnny Depp in KH3.

This is all I'm going to say about James Woods he has a right to his views. I'm not going to bash the guy for it. I'm looking forward to him reprising his role & more than likely bowing out as his last vo kh game.

I was only stating that while Depp is in the middle of a pretty public scandal that has continually brought negative views on the projects he is working on, they aren’t going to bother asking him to do work for them to avoid having a reason for the press to connect his scandal to any of their ongoing projects. Woods isn’t involved in any scandals, so they have no reason to not call him in.

In no way was I trying to make some political discussion. Just answering Scorseselover’s unspoken question. And shouldn’t I be allowed to decide what kind of discussion I wish to engage in? I don’t pull the admin card ever but...I’m fairly sure as one I can be trusted to make judgement calls on a topic.

I’ve maintained this topic for years since I created it and its previous incarnations. I’ve got this.

Ryan is still overseas but Zachary Levi is out of Paris and back into New York so hopefully they will record soon! It’d love an English version of this trailer.

Unfortunately Mandy is also busy with This Is Us, but she recorded for Tangled Series 3 last month so that’s something.

That's good to hear here's to hope that Scott Adsit, Jamie Chung, Brooks Wheelan, and Khary Payton aren't too far behind.

Even if the full trailer that is set to launch next week may or may not be dubbed in English I'm expecting the main cast from the film (Ryan, Scott, Jamie, Genesis), and the actors who voiced Fred and Wasabi from the TV series (Brooks Wheelan and Khary Payton) to reprise their roles in the game.

On the one hand, kind of a relief that some of Disney worlds haven't been recorded yet. Makes it more likely that recording for the English version of the game as a whole is unfinished, which means Even's original VA could still be called in.

On the other, having at least two worlds with unfinished English stories makes me INCREDIBLY nervous for the release date.

Yeah I’m nervous too. The game probably needs to be ready by like December at the latest to get ready for shipment. I’m not sure how long the recording and lip syncing takes, but I’d think they would need to get it done by this month or next at the latest. I just don’t want them to be in a time crunch and put out a poorly synced dub.

Yeah. Although then again, since SE doesn't generally do ensemble recording they may just be nabbing people qhenever they have time, and it could be that only Mandy Moore's lines are unfinished. I would certainly appreciate it if they could speak on the matter and put it to bed, so to speak.

Edit@Swoosh: I don't THINK so? It's probably more likely they'll have to go with a soundalike. But the "Worst Case" voice fears a delayed Western release citing "not wanting to compromise" on VA quality.

I'm not exactly sure how the actor/actress work scheduling works when it comes to the Disney/Disney-Pixar characters hailing from the Disney worlds for KH3 and the previous installments in the franchise (KH2, BBS, DDD), but since the Disney characters only appear in their worlds and don't play a huge part in the KH storyline like Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Maleficent and Pete, usually the actors who provided voice-over work for these characters (the original actors from the films or a sound-alike actor filling in) varies on availability and there work schedule. Sometimes it will be around 4-6 hours, days, maybe 1-2 weeks to do their dialogue for the session, which ranges from:

1. The Number of lines of dialogue spoken from this specific character in the Disney world

2. The party members in Sora's party, the escort characters, Summons and Disney Bosses doing making comments, grunts, shouts, screams during gameplay.

Well, let's wait for next week's trailer to see if we get any English dubbing for these worlds.

I kinda doubt we will get an English trailer if the main focus of it hasn't been fully recorded yet. They avoided that with Tangled as well, and now that its only in like 1 clip per trailer its not as weird when they just randomly don't speak lol.

I guess its worth noting both Pixar worlds and Pirates has mostly stand-ins so maybe that made it easier? I guess we don't even know who is in the Hercules world other than Herc and Hades...which is weird to think about. Both have their VA's back though.

I'm not sure where in the season it was they were recording for. She was in front of a screen with very rough sketches of Rapunzel and Cassandra. Since it takes roughly 9+ months to make an episode of a cartoon, and we are about halfway through the season, I'm just guessing that it's for season 3 unless they're preparing to give viewers a major hiatus aha.

I don't think they would have done Tangled and KH in succession. Tangled is done in a different studio, probably on Disney's own lot. Square Enix have Skylark Sound Studios in their books and they always record through them. Even Dissidia Final Fantasy was recorded there, you can see the rooms behind the voice actors in that video they released in January and it matches up with the images from every time a VA leaks that they are recording
