It's more about the fact, without sora, they wouldn't have a roxas. :| Basically in our world, and in the KH world.

i don't expect them to love sora, just not hate on him...

No I was trying to say, since sora was the main character in the first one, and if he had flopped as a character, they wouldn't have their roxy or aqua or whoever. If he, as a character, was hated in the first game, kingdom hearts as we know it, would not exsist.

Actually, a character can be hated but the franchise will live on. Quite a bit of the fandom don't care for SRK.

Which irks me a bit, actually. As butchered as KH2 was, Sora had an insane amount of character development whereas Roxas was an even worse "baw cry over my sob angst story" character than Xion.
At least Xion, love her or hate her, had an entire game to try and build attachment through so when she disappeared, it had more chances of hurting more.
Roxas showed up out of nowhere without being explained and all of a sudden I'm supposed to feel bad for him because "his summer vacation is over"? I'm sorry, it takes more than just a punch line to get me to feel bad for a character.
I need to have a reason to love him first.
And if people managed to not care when Xion went bye bye I fail to see a reason for me to feel sad over Roxas who barely even had a prologue.

It continues even in Days though, ironically. Roxas isn't the true protagonist :\ And if as early on as KH2 Nomura even in the back of his head thought that Roxas needed a girl his age to get him to leave the Organization and then ended up creating that girl into the true protagonist, to me, it shows how even Nomura sees Roxas's concept.
He wasn't MEANT to be fleshed out. Otherwise I think they'd have done more with him. I mean they did enough with almost anyone else.

Eh. As a Kairi hater that loves Namine and basically finds many reasons to ridicule the whole "you love Namine so you HAVE to love Kairi", that argument doesn't really hold water. Sora and Roxas's relation is a plot element whereas putting Roxas as a character in Sora's shoes is what the people you're talking about would've wanted, regardless of how it would've been pulled of.

Eh. I actually see why people'd dislike Sora.
I just don't think it outweighs his strong points.

I personally don't hate RokuNami because of Roxas. To be precise I just can't see it for the life of me. Too much weighing it down and in the end leads back to SoNami (and whether that leads back to SoKai I'll leave that to you, I don't see that either)

I have to wonder, really, how things would've ended had Roxas been less of an impotent, incapable character and actually did something with his life.
The "he's only a year old" excuse doesn't hold in the least when you have Xion and Namine running around, actually doing something with themselves.

Believe me when I say I can't think of any logical reason why Roxas specifically will return.

The two components that make up Roxas are Sora's body (and soul, right?) and Ven's heart. Naturally, Roxas can't logically come back as himself since he's really only Ven's heart acting through Sora's body. But Ven can/will come back (and it's good, since he's an uber badass)

And the best part of it all? Ven still fits in where Roxas was, for example he was friends with Lea for a brief time after all. Ven can come back, since he's Roxas' true and vastly improved self. Roxas, as he is, is pretty much gone, as far as I can think. I really don't want to see Roxas come back, since it makes zero sense.

It saddens me what you said as that ties in too well with something I heard happened in Coded, where Namine's gone too :C, but as the two aren't all that related circumstances wise, to me, and Ven's still there so HE can keep up Roxas's part of remembering Namine and thus sustaining her inside Kairi I haven't lost hope yet

Namine is one of the people who needs to be healed/reconnected. And it's much more plausible for her and Xion to come back than it is for Roxas specifically. Namine isn't Kairi's body/soul, merely a "????" labeled as a "Special Nobody" by DiZ, apparently formed by Sora's darkness and Kairi.

Xion, in comparison to Roxas, isn't a Nobody at all. She's a clone of Sora and was absorbed by Roxas once Sora's memories were drained and one needed to destroy the other. As her own entity, she can return physically, and since there was (if memory serves me right) a brief time where Sora, Roxas and Xion all existed without any issues with Sora's memory (after all, there was some time in Days spent before Sora arrived in CO) She wouldn't interfere with Sora's memory.

Roxas is physically impossible to return. Ven, on the other hand, can come back. :D

Makes sense. And again, much more easily fixed than it is to bring back Roxas. But he'll probably come back anywho. :C Too much fandom for him.

The issue is that he's the toughest one to fix out of everybody.

As much as I don't like her, I feel there is room for her and by her, I mean the younger looking black-haired Kairi part. If Sora does have to bring her back, I'm sure something that has to do with his memories will be the tool in that. (A sample of Sora's memories of Kairi?) After that, she'll pretty much become her own person.. I guess, despite being a Sora clone with Kairi's KH1 appearance.

Roxas is the only I absolutely can't see how he could come back, other than through Ven, as Axel will come back through Lea. Seriously, I can understand Xion a bit, since she kind of has her own appearance, but not Roxas. Then again, Xion might somehow form her own memories and again, somehow grow into her own person. (i.e. As she ages, she'll look less and less like Kairi, yet still be female.) Ehh.. I don't know how clones work in the KH series, but that's what I'm hoping for, should she come back.

People cling too much to Xion's Kairi look, really. If she'll appear again and we'll still get the Kairi face it'd hardly be because that's what she's made from - otherwise she wouldn't have looked like Ven or Sora himself, if she truly was MADE from Sora's Memories of Kairi only. It's just that CoM made for those Memories to be the first available Memories for Xion to base her looks by.
If she'll be shown as Kairi again it's because that's how Riku, Roxas and Namine remember seeing her for the most part, not because that's really her make-up. Otherwise explaining why she spoke through the Oblivion and not the Oathkeeper becomes ridiculously difficult.

Nah, I think not. Ven's a beast in personality. Possibly the most ballsy male protagonist in the series. Roxas is, was, and always will be (sadly) a wuss. Remember the brief four years we had before KH2 when everyone thought he'd be such a badass?

If anything, it'll be DiZ's data, somehow being capable to defy logic and bring back Roxas. :C

Yeah, that's honestly the one single possibility for Roxas, as himself, to return.

Much preferred it though if it's just through Ven, the real badass, that Roxas returns. Because, quite honestly, everything that Nomura seemed to aim for in Roxas, he missed with Roxas, but hit bullseyes with Ven. Ven's an uber tragic badass.
