i hate that this happened
i'm sick and tired of people taking these tragedies and turning them into anti-gun propaganda bullshit. whether you like it or not, people have a constitutional right to have firearms, if this is infringed upon then what is stopping the rest of your rights to be infringed upon? what will you do when soldiers suddenly start living in your house? or you're forced to live by a religion you don't practice? or you certain words are banned and you get your tongue cut out for using them?
1) he didn't have a military grade assault rifle, that isn't easy to get. one of these shooters today used an old style .22 caliber rifle that is a single shot, i've fired them myself, they aren't anything to write home about. This constitutional right was written when guns took minutes to reload a single shot, not when guns can fire 200 rounds in 2 minutes. It's dated, and an ignorant thing to hide behind. The fact that this is a constitutional right is part of the problem, no man should be able to get his hands on diddlying 2 handguns and a military grade assault rifle. No one is omitting blame from the shooter, but guns and how easily accessible they are the common factors in every incident like this.
What...And the signs of the end keep coming...

2) boo-diddlying-hoo, welcome to america. all of those rights were written back then, again why should that one be discredited because it is old, but the others shouldn't? again, let me re-iterate, there are already rules and regulations, but people will get their hands on them regardless if they are illegal or not, just like many illegal drugs. removing the rights from the entire country because there are a few people that abuse them, much like free speech, is a ridiculous proposition.
I saw this on Facebook, I was obviously pretty frustrated
He could've done the same with hundreds of other legal objects, should those be banned as well? The lethality isn't the point. It's the fact that a man was able to get all of these diddlying firearms and walk into an elementary school, that is the issue.
Except, as I said, these people are going to commit these acts regardless of the weapon the use, and they are going to obtain these weapons if they really want. You know nothing about how these shooters obtained the weapons, whether they stole them, bought them legally, bought them illegally, borrowed them from a friend, etc. You use hyperbole and act as if they are obtained nuclear warheads by walking down to Wal-Mart and picking from a dozen of them on a shelf, they aren't.This one should be amended because 2 men, in the same week, got their hands on assault rifles in two weeks. The people who wrote your constitution would be horrified at the thought of civilians having access to modern weapons to do whatever with. They're weapons of mass murder.
It's only in America where you can buy firearms from stores so easily, even if it is illegally. Our gun related causalities are massive compared to other nations with strict gun control laws. We need new rules, or amend the ones we already have since what we have NOW obviously isn't doing the trick. Completely outlawing firearms isn't ideal of course, but having a country where AR-15's and Bushmasters are so easily obtained isn't ideal either. Something needs to be done and it's these people who cling to their 2nd amendment and glocks that make this that much harder to accomplish.
well yea people kill people, but owning a gun gives people the means to kill. If this punk as bitch didnt have a gun i think he would have been less likely to pull off this massacre... Pointing and shooting is much more easier for cowards...killing sprees of this caliber aren't caused by people owning guns. these are highly premeditated and guns are not the cause of this, if someone wants to kill a dozen people, there are a lot of ways to do, a lot of which are probably easier than using a gun. such as mixing chlorine and bleach inside a building and locking to door or a molotov. both of these are much more horrendous.
If they cry mental illness i cry BS.before anyone says "screen for mental illness and boom problem solved" that isn't quite simple and it is already done to some extent. most states already have laws prohibiting firearms to be in the possession of the mentally unstable, especially those that post a danger to others. however, most mental illness diagnosis cannot just be "herpderp tested for" and be done with it. most diagnosis for mental illness require long term persistence of the majority of the diagnostic requirements. some mental disorders such as psychopathic personality disorders are not even official diagnosis and there is no concrete guideline for meeting the criteria.
Guns are easier to obtain than drivers license in most states so to say restricting access to guns wont do much isnt necessary true. you said it yourself, it will affect black market prices. If your mental disorder drives you to kill innocent children between the ages of 5-10/11 years of age than there is nothing that can be done for you JMO. Same class as pedos if you ask me.restricting access to guns would not do much but affect black market prices, if people really want to commit murder sprees they will. the fact that these aren't commonplace in society today is a testament to how much of a non-issue this is regarding guns and society. it is an issue with certain individuals and unfortunately there is not much that can be done until we have a deeper understanding of mental disorders and mental processes behind these individuals and are able to catch them early, diagnosis and treat them before any harm is done.

but i believe that it should be strongly regulated. FYI people rights get infringed on all the time, the bill should be modified. A word cant kill you but a person with a gun can.Spoiler Show
i stopped reading because this tells me you are retardedIf they cry mental illness i cry BS.

There are also plenty of other countries with gun related violence, and again, there is no reason you've supplied that even remotely makes infringing on certain rights okay, but others not.
[edit] in fact, america is fairly low on the list of homicides per 100,000 population due to firearms.

while a lot of these don't have strict firearm laws, some do. the correlations isn't there, and correlation isn't even causation, sooo
My point was having a mental illness wouldn't justify what he did.i stopped reading because this tells me you are retarded
