Anyway, I don't think it's too big of a deal for the game to be split up like this. I guess. It's only with prior knowledge of a complete story does it seem weird, but maybe this first game will be told so well that the Midgar story line will truly feel like its own "beginning and end"—with the next part being a "sequel". No idea, but it sounds kind of interesting in the sense of how they plan to elevate the characters and narrative here. It'd be cool if they really did throw in even more characters to emphasize here, like Cissnei. She and the other Turks will always be the reason I wanted some BC remake of sorts.

How many parts will there be?
Square themselves do not know yet. Could be everything else is done in the 2nd part. Could be 3. Or 4. Or 17. No one knows.

It still makes me nervous to think about how many parts there will be. And will each part contribute as much as the first? Are we going to *potentially* pay $60 for each part?

I like the idea of expanding FFVII; new missions or side quests, new areas to visits like new sectors and other unknown parts about Midgar, but we really haven't seen anything new. Everything we've seen is still the FFVII we know today. I wish they would expose that new content to make it seem worthwhile.

They say it won't be a 1:1 remake, and I think that's awesome, but everything they've shown makes it seem like it is.

Yes, but with the remake they are giving Midgar more time to shine in this. It's a multi-tiered city with various sectors that we never visit. It seems like they are trying to create an open world feel for just Midgar alone, which works because we never really experience the opulence of the people who live above the plate and we only just barely experience the squalor of the people who live under the plate.

I think exploring the entirety of Midgar would be well worth it. And there's so much potential because like you've said there are many unknown areas so the possibilities are endless. I really want them to start showing off new content so we know what we're getting in part 1.

I still think making Midgar is a bit overkill but hey, it probably is the most iconic location in the game so I'll still enjoy it. I think Part 2 should aim to get to either the Temple of Ancients or the Northern Crater. Both work very well as cliffhanger conclusions and then Part 3 can wrap up the story.

I assume Part 2 will start off with the Kalm flashback and will revolve around an open world so I'm honestly expecting them to take a long time to make it. If they manage to get there though, I think Part 3 will take the least amount of time to develop.

That said, this is Square and we could be looking at 4+ parts for this project in which case I hope I'm not eligible for social security checks by the time this is finished

Some new tidbits from the Famitsu interview with Nomura:

• The watchmen of fate (the black mist in the trailer) are mysterious beings that appear before the party wherever they go. I hope that even those who have played the original game will enjoy the new elements.
• There are quite a bit of dialogue options. We are making it so the dialogue changes depending on your response, so the sheer volume of dialogue has increased.
• The Honey Bee Inn cross-dressing event is still in. We’ve made it more modern. If we made the facility like we did in the original game, the physical unease would be staggering, so that was no good…
• There are quite a few additions to the scenario. While the main story itself hasn’t changed, there are a countless number of new events. Otherwise we wouldn’t have two Blu-ray discs. (Laughs.)
• Aerith and Tifa are double heroines. One has a western-style look and the other an eastern-style look.
• We wanted Tifa to have abs, so she has an athletic body type. The ethics department at Square Enix also told us that we had to tighten her chest as not to get unnatural during all the intense action. From there we got the black underwear and fitted tank top.
• With an emphasis on immersion and exhilaration, you can fight without stress through the use of shortcuts. When you open the command menu, time slows and you can fight like a command battle.
• Each playable character has different enemy affinities.
• An item is required for MP recovery.
• For the sake of level design, we’re preparing a few new enemies where necessary.

People tend to forget everyone had cartoony proportions in the original. lol

What I don't get from the arguments on her breast size, is her breasts don't seem that different to her post-VII appearances (Advent Children, KH, Dissidia, etc.) just that she's clearly wearing a sports bra now.

But I do hope during the Don Corneo mission, her breasts are shown to be larger than what her normal outfit implies. Bras can really affect how the size of our boobs appear, so if they keep Tifa braless in her revealing dress then there should be a noticeable difference in size. If they keep her melons down it also takes away some of the humor from Don Croneo picking Cloud over her and Aerith.

I can vouch too for a sports bra kinda..reducing the size of someone's..assets. So I can understand why they're trying to make it more realistic/have Tifa wear a sports bra.

If you know LDS folk/Mormons like me, you know we wear a specific kind of undergarments. I wear the two piece version..which means a undershirt. I recently lost a rather large amount of weight, so I'm having to replace most of my clothes.

Lately I've been having trouble with too-big undershirts and erm, the undershirt sleeves showing on some shirts (that's bad folks) so I went to the distro center to buy new undershirts. Unfortunately, the only bras I currently own that halfway fit is some sports bras. Turns out I got the undershirts a size too small >.< so I'm going to have to get some more and save the offending garment tops for later.

So yeah. Those horny teeny boppers ought to realize that us girls/ladies with huge breasts (I use a C cup in US bras) don't want to be flopping around when we do athletic type stuff and that sports bras can make your erm, assets look and measure just a little smaller. Take my word for it. ^^ and yes I mean to get me some normal type bras soon as I can talk my brother into going to the store.. So yeah, heck Tifa's just wearing a sports bra and looks like it.

I find it a little sad/cringey to see Quinton Flynn shilling petitions to keep him/the old cast in the game or put in as DLC. Like... I get that on some level, a professional actor will want to advocate for themselves, but this goes past that. They wanted a fresh cast for this remake, to make it feel like we're meeting these characters in a new way. If you can't respect that, then at least respect the new cast by not acting like it's some kind of horrible injustice that you were replaced.

Beyond that, and this might be slightly more specific/personal to Flynn... Come on, dude. You're in Kingdom Hearts III, the best selling video game of 2019 (so far, fingers crossed it keeps doing well) and Square's second biggest franchise worldwide. You voice Axel, a character who is similar enough to Reno in a handful of ways. The game is setting up your character to have more to do in the future. Idc, this campaign to voice Reno when everyone else (INCLUDING STEVE WHO DIDN'T GET TO BE IN KH3 AT ALL) is passing the torch gracefully... It's just embarrassing.

The "it hurts" dialogue choice...? That's the closest fit for "physical unease" in my opinion.

While I'm not necessarily a Quinton Flynn fan (his performance as Axel elevates KH, sure) and think that his time is better spent pursuing obtainable wins, I empathize. It's become increasingly epidemic, these swaths of recasts. See: Powerpuff Girls, Sailor Moon, Evangelion, etc. We're talking about these folks livelihoods and the continuing controversial treatment of these studio giants, the lack of union compromise and their inability to acknowledge the basic needs of their performers. It's a touch ageist too, honestly. There's no real reason they shouldn't retain their roles (or even be called into auditions), except for the director thinks it adds to the 'newness' frills. That being said, no disrespect to the new cast. What's done is done, and I can still be happy for them. I think they all sound lovely in their roles so far.
