This is one of the weirdest, greatest things ever. Definitely getting a ton of Redline/Cowboy Bebop vibes. The animation is just awesome.

Oh my goodness. This pleases me beyond belief (but I bet there is a horde of angry Japanese fans somewhere)

I'm surprised Toonami got on this so fast. They are really expecting something big from this show. I hope they promote the hell out of it during CN hours and slap on "Samurai Champloo" and "Cowboy Bebop" in the commercials to get people watching.

That's what I'm really curious about. They don't mention they've dubbed it anywhere, but it should probably be assumed so since it's on Toonami.

But seriously, America is getting the diddlying premiere of an anime? A WATANABE ANIME? Please tell me I'm awake.

If any anime gets a premiere in the States before Japan, it's a Watanabe production. America has a larger Cowboy Bebop base than in Japan, and has a larger Watanabe fanbase in general.

So when you've got another space-themed show by the guy who made one of the most popular series in Western anime fandom, this decision isn't all that surprising.

Can't say I was expecting it though, lol

It makes complete sense, yeah. It's just a huge shocker that it's actually happening. I don't think I've ever seen an anime do this before.
