There's a part of me that feels like the defect disk will become a collector's item

And I hope an NA release of the BOX will be announced soon!

Oh I was planning on importing it soon, but if there's a chance of an NA edition releasing I may just hold out for that

It's only one song, so it's not that bad. In fact, like Echo said, that disk is now a one of a kind item! In time, it will become a relic!

That's true, but I think people who want to enjoy the music in order to appreciate the hard work that went into the song and the beautiful melody would probably like to hear the song in full stereo and don't care so much about the fact their OST will be a rare piece of history in the next 30 years and that they spent near $50-70 on a defective product.

(Of course those who are cool with it can just download the song rather than going through the hassle of mailing their item back to get a new disk but some people don't see this as an option)

story time: I inquired with Amazon.co.jp about the proper prcedure to obtain a refund IF my OST does happen to be defective (note: i still have not actually recieved the package yet to even tell whether it is or not) and they where all "return shipping overseas is expesive. you can keep the defective item and we'll just send you a replacement free of charge"

moral of the story: I have no freaking clue, but apparently i'm getting 2 copies of the 1.5+2.5 OST in the mail...

Just got my import copy today of the Soundtrack Box. It's amazing. The packaging/artwork is really great, and all the songs sound SO good remastered. I do have the disc 2 with the mono track on it. However, since Always On My Mind is a very soft and slow song, the fact that it's mono isn't terribly noticeable. Given how they aren't giving replacements outside Japan, it's not a big deal to me.

Also, given that the NA soundtrack was just announced, I don't regret importing. With Amazon JP it was actually cheaper, and the only difference between this and the NA version are probably just going to be that they'll replace the lyric songs with the English versions. Otherwise, it's identical.

So, I guess it is worth the money spent? I wish I had the money, but right now I just don't.

Absolutely. It's amazing how much better the remastered tracks sound. I'd just wait and order the NA version, that way you can save your money and get it in English.

Iiiii dunno, I might be more comfortable with most of Atlantica's songs if I don't understand them...

Erm... does the European version, I assume, come with the English songs? I'm debating whether to order this or not... but it hinges upon the songs being in English....

Likely not.

"Sanctuary", "Sanctuary -After the Battle-", and "Simple & Clean" are available on Utada's "This Is The One" album, though.

That is a shame though that they wouldn't have the English versions on the CDs. Hmmm, I wouldn't want to buy something with songs I can't understand and then have to buy something else to get them anyway.

Really? Hm. I was assuming that was the perk of getting the NA version. But I guess it makes sense, given that the album covers still show the Japanese game logos on the soundtrack covers, and how SE is importing the soundtracks from Japan instead of just printing them in the West. So yeah, maybe it is just the same soundtracks sold through the NA store (and without the disc 2 error as well)
